Hi Everyone!
Hoo boy, it has been a wild time around here with the fires and trying to get various house projects wrapped up before the coming fall/winter weather. The closest the fire got to us was about 5 miles and we had family members who were much much closer. My heart is with everyone who is affected by this massive disaster. I can’t even wrap my mind around the loss and the challenges of those who are in the burn zones are facing.
Now onto the rest of the newsletter.
Before the fire's kicked off I taught watercolor painting on the river with the Spokane Riverkeepers.

I have several classes at the Corbin Art Center this fall as well as two free sessions for teens with the Medical Lake and Airway Heights libraries respectively.
I am particularly excited about Architecture without Panic, which is just about drawing and painting city scenes without getting worked up about making it super precise.
NEW Architecture without Panic
4 Weeks | Ages 18+ | Megan Perkins Tackle drawing buildings with ease as Megan shows you measurement and perspective tricks. This class isn’t about making architectural rendering. We’ll be drawing buildings with a whimsical flair. Who cares about a little lean? We’re artists, not engineers! Plus, it builds character! A splash of watercolor over the top adds color and energy to the scene. Come join us in drawing the city! Supply list included upon confirmation of registration. $99

Sketchbook Habit
4 Weeks | Ages 18+ | Megan Perkins Experience the joy ! of playing in your sketchbook. In this class, we will explore techniques such as Notan, blind contour, hatching, color blocking, and more as a route to making work that improves our skills while embracing fun and defeating the inner critic. The goal is to learn ways to make art in small bits of time regularly so that you can make art every day. Please note, you WILL be expected to work in your sketchbook between class sessions. How can you develop a habit without practice? Supply list included upon confirmation of registration. $99

Intro to Watercolor Painting & Beyond
4 Weeks | Ages 18+ | Megan Perkins Come and learn the basics of watercolor, mixing colors, choosing the right paper, brushes to use, and how to transform a value sketch into a watercolor painting. If you have already taken a watercolor class before, the instructor will help you go on with what you want to accomplish. Please feel free to bring your own photos to paint from. Supply list is listed at the bottom of registration receipt. $99
